I’m really interested in the a vinyl bar in shibuya point of view

I’ve always been obsessed with music

previously built small slightly weird projects for Suno exploring the future of music.

I also planted 42,000 trees using Spotify (4.2 million streams) and made some other viral apps

I used to think music existed in a vacuum. Spoke for itself.

all that mattered was how it sounded and felt.

I used to listen to pirate radio and buy white labels from basements in Soho.

I think ai has disproved that. Ai music is now really good but people aren’t listening to it yet, Music is so much more than sound. It’s context, interaction, fashion;,time and place.

I’ve been thinking about that a lot. I made some demos to explore that idea

I’d rather build a demo than make a deck. It's a lot easier to show than tell. so heres some working demos I made:

What it does

Everyone in the room scans the same QR code. Each phone gets a different part of the same song — drums on one, bass on another, keys, voice.

Hold up your phones and together they play the full song

When it works it sounds grea. Especially for things like choirs

We've forgotton than music is a communal, healing experience. Why we use the metaphors of harmony to describe peaceful social dynamics and discord for chaos.

There's a reason totailtarian regimes in the 1930s all melted down church bells and the walkman was the symbol of the selfish 1980s yuppie.

Unison brings back a little of the communal joy of music. you can only hear the full song in aroom with other people.

How it works

One person starts a session. Their phone shows a QR code.
Everyone else scans it with the camera. No app store, no sign-in.
Each phone is handed one part of the song, and they all lock to the same clock so they stay in time.
They start together on the same beat and play out loud. No headphones — the point is the air in the room.
More phones, more parts. Someone joins late and they pick up the next missing part on the next bar.
Move around while it plays and the mix moves with you, because the parts are coming from different people.

Everyone turns their volume up.

a few years ago i uploaded a spoken word track about tree planting to spotify. the idea was that the money it generated in royalites would go to planting trees. people could add it to playlists to offset their listening
